Must it always be God or Jesus who calls our name in order for us to become ourselves? Couldn’t a psychologist do it, or a spouse, or a dear friend who believes in us?
The Christ-Child of the Year
For Christmas this year, I suggest we honor refugee children as the “Christ-Child of the Year.” They bring us as close to the original crib in Bethlehem as we can get within our world today.
Who would believe that you could get the voice of God confused with the voice of the old guy in the neighboring room?
The Gospel is about another call, the call of the apostles. Jesus challenges the two disciples with the question: “What are you looking for?”
Leaving Ourselves Behind
When the disciples took time with Jesus, did they find what they were looking for, even if just by instinct? Will this work for you?
